PROFESSOR EWA PAŃKOWSKA, MD, PHD / DIABETOLOGIST

 

Consultant diabetologist and pediatrician, long-term Medical University of Warsaw lecturer. She introduced the insulin pump therapy in Poland.
In her every day work she treats children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes. She recognizes individual needs of her patients and adjusts the treatment accordingly.
She has worked on introducing new technologies into therapy for many years now. Her aim has been to make it possible for her patients to lead a comfortable life in spite of the illness. She initiated the National Insulin Pump Therapy for Pre-School Children Program.
Simultaneously she has carried out research on insulin therapy that led her to establish a new approach known as the Warsaw School of Insulin Pump Therapy. She has also implemented an EU public health program SWEET.
She has actively participated in various international clinical research, she shares her knowledge on insulin therapy. She is a member of International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD).
She has published a number of articles in the academic peer-reviewed journals, both Polish and foreign.
